How to Make My Child’s Immune System Strong?
To boost your child’s immune system and minimise the number of sick days, it’s important for your child to have a healthy diet, enough sleep and adequate physical activity (children have to stay physically active despite lockdowns and restrictions). It’s also important to help your child manage stress by regularly talking with your child and spending happy times together as a family.

Updated vaccinations are also important. This is to minimise the number of sick days and prevent severe infections. Children will get sick or feel unwell from time to time. But with updated vaccinations and a strong immune system, the situation won’t be too lengthy or severe. Children will quickly recover in this case and immediately get back to play or learning.
Both children and adults are continuously exposed to harmful viruses and other microbes. However, our children’s immune system is still rapidly developing and might not yet be fully equipped for defence. As parents, our role is to reduce the risks and help children build a strong immune system.
With a strong immune system, your child will be able to play and learn continuously. After all, sick days will interrupt and slow down your child’s progress. It’s critical in your child’s early years when rapid physical and brain development occurs. With uninterrupted progress, your child will be better ready for big school and beyond.
Whether at home or early learning centre, it’s important that your child is always protected and nurtured. However, there should still be some freedom and opportunities to play and explore. There should always be that delicate balance between security and freedom so that your child will stay safe while he/she still actively plays and explores.
That’s our approach here at Dorset Early Learning Centre. We allow children to have fun in a safe and nurturing environment. Parents gain peace of mind because of our educational environment that feels safe, encouraging and supportive. On the other hand, children feel comfortable and free which is why they’re always active and happy. Contact us today if you want to know more about our curriculum and approach.
